Today’s yoji jukugo

Today’s yoji jukugo is ichi nichi sen shuu (一日千秋), meaning “one day, thousand autumns”. It’s important to note that an autumn is a traditional way of saying year in Japanese. Thus, this word could be translated to “a thousand years in a day”. A single day might feel like a thousand years if you really hate waiting for something, and time feels like it’s taking an eternity to elapse.

あなたのお帰りを一日千秋の思いでお待ちしています。
I await your return with the feeling of a thousand autumns in a single day.
