the sky is sad
arranging jewelry
like autumn grass


evening dark –
the light of jewelry
autumn grass



愁い空宝石並べ秋の草
うれい ぞら ほうせき ならべ あき の くさ


宵闇やジュエリー光り秋の草
よいやみ や ジュエリー ひかり あき の くさ


These haiku are a good example of juxtaposition. In each one, the first line expresses a different subject from the second and third lines. The expression of the jewelry and the evening sky together evokes a unique mood even through the poet says nothing directly.
