Drinking age

In the U.S., the minimum drinking age is typically 21 years old. The law requires establishments that serve alcohol to verify the age of customers. This is usually accomplished by checking a person’s drivers license. If someone does not have a license, another official form of identification like a passport can be used. Unfortunately, if a customer forgets to bring any identification, they will be turned away. I wonder if it is like this in Japan.
