ジオパーク第5回ユネスコ国際会議、終わって帰宅しました。
31カ国から600人が島原半島ジオパークに集まりました。
会期中に、、秋篠宮殿下と同妃殿下のご臨席を頂きました。
最後の閉会の挨拶で、私は俳句を詠みました。次の五句です。


It’s been a while since I’ve written.

The fifth international unesco conference on Geoparks has ended and I’ve come home. Six hundered people from 31 countries gathered at the Shimabara island geopark. During the conference, prince and princess Akishinonomiya gave us the honor of their presence. During the conference’s closing ceremony, I recited five haiku. Here they are:



集ひ来て五月の海と山の幸

つどひきて　ごがつのうみと　やまのさち

A gathering in May
reaps of the fruits
of the earth and sea.

火砕流跡の大地に琵琶をもぐ

かさいりゅう　あとのだいちに　びわをもぐ

From fresh earth
made of pyroclastic flow
I pick a loquat.

薫風や歴史を語れ大銀杏

くんぷうや　れきしをかたれ　おおいちょう

Summer breeze
through the old gingko tree-
tell us of history!

普賢岳より新緑の流山

こいのぼり　うんぜんだけを　はいけいに

Carp streamers
swim at the bottom
of Mount Unzen’s grandeur.
