Today, I gave Michiko a gift that I　brought back from Taiwan. This is a special souvenir. It is a box that contains several pineapple cakes. This is a type of sweet candy that is a famous product of Taiwan. It has a soft outside like mochi and the inside has a paste that is made of pineapple. I gave this to Michiko as a present to thank her for helping me learn Japanese and to give her a small taste of Taiwan. I hope that she will enjoy such a modest gift as a token of my appreciation.
