This year’s Christmas was awesome and I got lots of cool presents! But this valentine’s day, I got something from my mom that was as good as a Christmas present, A Canon T3I. The Canon T3I is an $850 camera (when you buy the 18-55mm lens kit) and it has amazing picture quality, 18 megapixels to be exact, and that helps if I am planning to make a video. The reason I wanted this camera is because I wanted to make films and videos and upload them to YouTube, the main kinds of videos I like to make are action videos. About 2 years ago, I took a liking to Special Effects which are the fake explosions, muzzle flashes, or even simple planes that actually aren’t there went filming a film, but put into the footage by using an editing program. My favourite editing/special effects program is one by Adobe called After Effects, and I use this to make my actors in my videos look like they are shooting real guns but in real life, they are just shooting simple airsoft guns (I explained what airsoft guns were in my last blog). I have only made one or two action videos right now and a couple of effect tests that I will use for future videos, but since I now have this cool new camera, I will be making lots of new action videos and uploading them to YouTube. Well anyway, back to the camera. I specifically wanted this model of the Canon Eos Series because it is the only one that has a screen that you can put out like a camcorder, which will help me when making videos. The camera wasn’t only for me because my mom got it for my video making and our picture taking, so it’s technically not just mines. I am so glad my mom got this camera because I was so lonely with just a video editor program and no camera, and now I can make the HD videos I’ve dreamed of.
