Tides at the North Sea

At the North Sea in Germany interesting phenomena can be observed. The water level rises twice a day up to 3.5 meters (12′). At this point, the shore is flooded. Just as the water comes, it flows back again. Then, on the ebb when the water reaches the lowest level, large areas on the shore are dry.

Its also possible to reach closer islands then with a horse or a Jeep. 🙂

The tides occur constantly and take together 12 hours and 24 minutes.

Michiko I am going to ask my brother to forward some pictures to show you. He is living in Bremen what is close to the North sea.
