Boats lie beside cars
houses, people, grass and trees
brushed by Buddha’s wind.






ふね くるま　いえ ひと くさき　ねはん にし

涅槃西風（ねはんにし） 春の季語。
2行目は、「地獄絵」の説明です。
問題は西欧人にとって、 “Nirvana” は、
仏教でいう極楽とは意味が違うことです。
はっきりいうと少々なまくさい感じです。
“The gentle wind blows in from the West” でもいいかもしれません。
