今日の一句

狛犬に新茶供へてありにけり

Accepting their tea
from the season’s first leaves
stone dog guardians.

こまいぬ に しんちゃ そなへて あり に けり

A pair of stone dogs is often used as guardians to a Shinto shrine. It may seem like a waste to offer the precious first tea of the season to stone statues that can’t enjoy it. This makes the offering all the more precious.
