This weekend my mom and her sisters went to the big island to visit my uncle’s farm on the Big Island. Right now his sakura flowers are in bloom. Unfortunately the weather has been terrible so I think the tree was not as full as usual because of the steady pour of rain. The sakura as you can see is a lot more pink than the sakura flower from Japan.

When I was in Japanese school when I was a kid, we used to sing this “Sakura” song quite a bit. Reminded me of that.
