Weather Forecast

Michiko asked me “Does the weather forecast have an umbrella next to it on T.V. when showing rain?”Generally speaking I don’t think so in Hawaii, at least I haven’t noticed it when I watch KGBM 9 news, typically it just seems to be rain falling down on the screen. However, she had mentioned to me in Japan that they show a umbrella to represent rain. Interestingly enough I thought about when I lived in Washington, they also showed an umbrella when representing rain. To conclude I think it might be possible that the reason they show umbrellas is because of the intensity of the rain. Whereas, in Hawaii it tends to be more sunny and you might not need to carry a umbrella with you throughout your day, since the rain clouds may pass over fairly quickly.

I glad this little bit of info helped. I am now a little curious about this whole umbrella thing and if I see anymore info on it I will be sure to let you know. However, lately it looks like the weather is going to be sunny and 80 over here for a long time, with no rain in the forecast.
    Aloha, Dave
