yet another teapot

This is a dragon tetsubin I bought in Las Vegas — it’s bigger than the two I already had, so it’ll be perfect to use when we have company. Besides, you can never have too many teapots… :>

Mmmm… Maybe, Allison-san can inspire me to drink tea in a correct way. As I broke so many teapots (including the one Michiko-san sent me from Hawaii) in the past and it’s not easy to get ceramic teapots where I live, I now use a wire basket that fits in my tea cup, even though I know that it is not a good way to taste tea. I do pay attention to use hot water at right temperature, at 180 to 185 degree for green tea, 205 to 210 for chinese tea. Your article also reminds me that I too have a tetsubin. I will use that one when the weather gets warmer.

I used to use a wire basket in an enormous mug to make tea at work, but now I’ve switched to using those do-it-yourself tea bags, since emptying out loose tea leaves is a little messy in the office. 🙂
