応用編も滞りなく終わり、勉強になったのもつかのま、
すぐに最終便で羽田⇒伊丹へとんぼ返り。

そして悲劇は起こった。。
なんと飛行機の出発が30分以上遅れ、伊丹から乗るはずの
宝塚行き阪急バス最終便がわずかの差で出てしまった。。
おかげでモノレール－阪急電車－阪急バスという時間のかかる
帰りを強いられることに。

阪急バスも到着便の遅れを確認してから出発しろよ!!

今日は東京で嚥下の世界的権威の先生による講演会があったので、
朝早くから実家⇒関空⇒羽田⇒永田町へ！
朝５時過ぎにでて現地へ着いたのが10時15分！

肝心の講演会は、学校の集中講義の復習になりよかった。
あすは応用編なのでしっかり聴かんと。

Do you know what a rancel is?

A rancel is a backpack that Japanese elementary school students wear when they go to school. It is like having proof that you are in elementary school so, when someone has a rancel bought for them, they are very excited. Even I, for no reason, ran around the house with my bright red rancel.

Incidentally, there was an apple that lived on my rancel.

Sometime during my first year of elementary school, as I was going to school as always with my bright red rancel, a bully named Ai-chan said this to me. "Midori-chan, there’s something weird drawn on your rancel." "The usual teasing has begun. I can’t let it bother me," I decided my child’s mind. "Yeah, yeah, go on," I replied lightly, but… "No, really. I’m not lying. Go ahead and look!" said the curiously persistent Ai-chan. Because she was so persistent and also because she seemed unusually sincere, I took of my rancel and looked. When I did that, I was shocked. My mouth dropped open and I couldn’t move for a while. What in the world? There was a powerful graffitti drawn with a magic marker left there. It was huge and right in the center. "What’s this, Ai-chan?" "I dunno. See, I wasn’t lying." "No, no. 学校の連れ3人で芸北エリアの
八幡高原191スキー場にいってきた。

きのう、おとといと寒かったので、雪めあてにお客さんが多いのでは!
と思いきや車も50台くらいしかなくって
ガラガラ!
ゲレンデもスキスキ!!
雪質もジョウジョウ!!

deble好みのコブのない中斜面が多くって思う存分滑べれました。
でもひさびさのコンタクトに目がつかれた。。

■2003/03/04 (火)

関東・北陸で春1番が吹いたことに落胆するdeble。
そう、スキー場の雪が融けてしまうではないか!!!!!!!

しかし今日はうってかわって寒い1日。三原では時折雪も舞ってました。
3月はできれば3回は行きたいので、雪よ降って!!!溶かさないで!!
と冬将軍に願カケしてきました。

■2003/03/02 (日)

今日は島なみ街道の最大の島、因島で県の失語症などを中心とした
患者さんの集まる大会があるので、朝早くからフェリーに乗って因島へ。

一度しまなみ自転車制覇のときに通って以来で、ポルノ&東ち○るの出身で有名な島。
ここでボランティアで広島県言語友の会因島大会に参加した。

患者さんの会場への誘導や、案内など300人の来場者に80人のボラ。
実質始めての参加だったので不安やったけど、とてもおもしろかったっす。

因島に来て気づいたこと。挨拶をした因島の病院の院長、市長、歌体操のおばさん、
大会実行ST、みんな「村上」さん。
そう、あの海賊「村上水軍」で有名な村上さんが名字の人が多い!
病院の人に聞くと、「村上と岡野」だけで半分を占めるのだそう。

意外な知識を得て、帰路のフェリーでたそがれるdebleであった。

It is still cold here, but the plum blossoms are in full bloom. The other day, I read your letter and just burst out laughing. The reason for that was that I, too, have a weak throat so I always have something wrapped around my neck. At night I’m just like you (having something wrapped around my neck) and there are times when my neck is sore in the morning. That is not the case in the summer but, no matter what you say, I hate winter. It might be because I was born in May. From now on, because it is the season for pollen, there will be many people who will be inconvenienced by this. How are you over there? The Nagaya (website) has changed quite a bit, hasn’t it?

　まだ　まだ寒いこちらですが　梅の花々は満開です。先日のお便りを見て思わず笑ってしまいました。それと言うのは、私ものどが弱くて、いつも首に何か巻いているのですが　夜は、正に同じ状態で　朝、首が痛い時があるのです。　夏にはそうでもないのですが　なんと言っても冬は嫌ですね。　５月生まれのせいかもしれません。　今からは花粉の季節で困ってしまう人が多いです。　そちらは如何ですか。 長屋の様子が、ずい分と変わりましたね。 Continue reading →

偽造対策のため、今日でハイウェイカードの3、5万円の販売が終了した。

5万円買うと58000円分も使える超利用価値の高いカードだった
だけに非常に残念。

今年中にデリ号で鹿児島へ行くこともあろうかと、
実家から広島までの帰りに買おうとコンビニに寄ったら
どこも売り切れ。さすがに手遅れかと思って、最後の手段

「高速のインターチェンジのJH事務所」

に行くとすんなりと購入!!
何とか貴重な5万円券1枚をゲットしました。

self-portrait add-on paragraph

It’s been about a year since I started learning Japanese at NACOS, and I do feel like I’ve learned a lot.  I think my accent has gotten a little better (at least, Michiko doesn’t laugh at it as much as she did when I first started .), and I’m definitely better at thinking of sentences than I used to be.  I still have a long way to go, though, because I have a hard time memorizing vocabulary words.

I think it’s funny that the knowledge I’ve gained at NACOS seems to be shoving out the knowledge that I gained earlier in my life; for example, when I was little, I used "ga" to connect sentences that had a "but" between them, but now I tend to end the sentence and say "demo."  Also, this morning it took me half an hour to remember the word for bathroom, and practically the only thing I used to remember from my high school Japanese class was how to ask to go to the restroom.  (The other thing I remember from high school is how to say "McDonald’s" in Japanese.)
