　最近、立ちくらみがひどい。  仕事中、立ち上がったときに一瞬目の前が真っ白になり、 おっと… と立ち止まる。  栄養ちゃんととらないと・・・ と思うけど、不規則な生活で夕食は微妙なことが多い。  そういえば中学校のとき、炎天下の中、体育の授業でぶっ倒れたことがある。  鉄分とらなきゃ。
 
 
Dizzy Spells

Lately, my dizzy spells have been really bad. At work, as soon as I stood up, everything turned white and–whoa–I had to catch myself. I thought I must not be getting enough nutrition but, due to my chaotic lifestyle, I often don’t eat a good dinner. I ate too much curry!

I ate too much curry. Shuzo wanted me to translate this in such a was as to capture the nuance of the original Japanese. Masaya often speaks (and writes) in a very informal way that is usually used among friends and could be considered somewhat rough or rude in the wrong situation. He used the word, "kuisugita," which is a rougher form of "tabesugita," which means "I ate too much." However, in English, if we ate too much curry we would just say, "I ate too much curry." The only difference between saying it informally would be in the intonation and the way we said it. If we just wanted to say, "I ate too much," we might say "I’m stuffed" or something like that, but I can’t think of a different way of saying, "I ate too much curry." Continue reading →

　きょう は、ほいくしょ で  にさい の こども と あそんだ。 こども は  ちいさくて  かわいい！  おもしろい！  こども の  あの えがお は  わたし を  とても  うれしい きぶん  に  してくれる。
 
 
Preschool

　最近、一日が早い。 週２回のゴミの日を出し忘れ、もう一週間たったんだと気づく。 ぼーとしてたら、あっという間に年取るなぁ。 やりたいことがありすぎて、時間が足りない。
 
　さいきん、いちにち が はやい。　 しゅう ２かい の ゴミ の ひ を だしわすれ、もう  いっしゅうかん たったんだ と きづく。　 ぼーと  してたら、あっ と いう ま に とし とる なぁ。　 やりたいこと が ありすぎて、じかん が たりない。

 おとこまえ どうふ

以前からずっと食べたかった豆腐を買った｡

男前豆腐店の豆腐｡ 本当は、「風に吹かれて豆腐屋ジョニー」 という
長細い豆腐を食べたかったのだが売切れだった｡
ちょっと高くてなかなか買えないので、先輩と後輩と私で仲良くいただく｡
まろやか！そして、豆の味がしっかりする！

先輩が、この写真を携帯の待ち受けにしているのがおもしろかった。
 
 
Handsome Tofu

I bought the tofu that I have been wanting to eat for a long time.

It was tofu from the Otokomae (handsome) Tofu Shop. Actually, I wanted to eat the long, thin tofu from "Blown By The Wind Tofu Shop Johnny," but they were sold out. It’s a little expensive and I can’t buy it all the time, so I shared it with the juniors and seniors in my group. It had a mild taste and you could really taste the beans!

It was funny that my senior used this picture as her cell phone screen.
