Damon Speech
Today for English class, everyone had to deliver their "Damon Speeches" which were speeches about issues they cared about in school or Oahu. I was sweating bullets, before I gave mine, but the smiling faces of my friends helped me to pull through.

Lack of Sleep (すいみんぶそく)
I’m always tired on Sundays, because during the week I don’t get a lot of sleep. Maybe seven and a half hours of sleep. But I need at least 9 hours. It would help me so much to get and extra hour of sleep. I think I’ll take a nap today.
Continue reading

14th Birthday
Today I am one year older, now 14. I’ve learned many things this past year, like playing the piano and ukulele, and learning Japanese. It has been a phenominal year, and I hope this one is only better.

football injury
Last October, there was a football game between Punahou and Kamehameha, and it was a great battle raging on. The game was so intense that I didnt notice my right hands ring finger getting broken as I tackled the running back. I had to concentrate on the last 30 minutes of the game, so i forgot about it. Punahou still won. After the game i felt the pain my finger swelling up to almost twice its size and it was bent out of place. When I reurned to school, I went to the health center to get it checked. The 5 people running the health center are called the "Blue Crew," because they wear blue shirts to work everyday. I then put some ice on my hand to stop the swelling. The next day, it was still sore and swollen. But I only had to miss one day of practce. After this spring baseball season, I’ll go to a professonal doctor to get it checked out. I play the piano, but the bent finger causes me to make a few mistakes each time I use it. I guess I have to get used to it.

Football in Kaimuki
One day my pals and I went to kaimuki midle school park to play football. We we’re all just fooling around, when a group of about 5 very thick boys walked up to us. " eh, we play you guys," one of them called. My friends we’re a little scared, but i was up to the challenge. One boy was like a bus, plowing through everyone. Except when he got to me. We walked away later that day as winners. Those kahala boys are next.

a rainy week
Rain was pouring from the sky this week, from Monday to Friday. Theres was always a downpour, and it ruined all of my baseball practices and our game. At school, we could not do anything outside because everything was so muddy. I hope the punahou carnival isn’t as rainy as last year.

School mischief
Today something really funny happened at school. We were planning to play a joke on my friend, Aaron. When he wasnt looking, we dared one of the girls to pull his pants down. He got really mad, and said "Oh my God!" HE chased us around the school, but finally settled down. It was just a joke.

Today I learn how to write shyodo, which is a Japanese scripture writing. I wrote a new years resoluition which is to keep bettering myself as I go on through life. It was very stressful to write at first, because my hand kept shaking and I had to keep focusing on my writing. But after I did it, I felt like I accomplished something and I felt good inside. The new year is like a present, it is waiting to be opened and enjoyed.
