Aloha,

Here’s a picture of me & my boys with Pu’u O’o (active volcano vent) in the background. We went on a 13 m. overnight roundtrip hike. We got to see the vent glowing orange at night. It was beautiful.

ハワイ島地震 コハラ救援

Kohala Earthquake Relief
Aloha Family & Friends,

We wanted to let you know that we are all fine and safe after the recent earthquake we experienced last Sunday. The first earthquarke clocked in at 6.7 with a second one at 6.0 magnitude. life on the Big Island

Aloha from the Big Island!

I used to teach for NACOS back when I was in college and later on while we were living on O’ahu. Shuzo and Michiko are so wonderful. They have always kept an open door for me to work and just keep in touch with them.

Life here on the Big Island is very slow, like countryside living. I really enjoy the quiet and laid back pace. We go to the beach at least once a week. My boys love the ocean. They love to surf, dive and snorkel.

Hope that you can come and see what the Big Island is like.

aloha,

Sarah Kobayashi
