Well, this story happened in August 2004. I was in San Diego attending a class for work with a couple of others guys stationed at Yokosuka with me. We had the weekend off so we all decided to go to the San Diego Zoo.

We were all having a good time walking around and taking pictures of the animals when we came upon the animal petting section of the zoo. There they had large animals you could ride. I’m a little afraid of large animals so I was a bit cautious.

I rode the elephant first and is wasn’t so bad. It was a really short and bumpy ride. After that I gained a bit of courage and decided to ride the camel. This was a big mistake. Continue reading →

I will spend Christmas in Japan. I’m not scheduled to go any where for a very long time.  🙂  My apartment is very warm.  I have a keronsene heater that I bought from Daiei that warms my entire apartment.  I think I might go to Shibuya or maybe Shinjuku to celebrate New Years. The weather here is still very nice.  Its not cold all the time.  There are so many places I have found in Tokyo.  Did you know that there is a park with restuarants on top of the Takashimaya building in Shinjuku?  The veiw from up there is great. I’m doing fine.  I’ve been doing alot of exploring here in  Japan.  Every weekend I get on the train and go some where new.  I go to Tokyo and Yokohama alot.  I found a very nice China town area in Yokohama a few days ago.  It is right next to Yamashita park which has a nice view of Yokohama bay.  I plan on buying a new camera to replace my old one that get broken when I dropped it.  When I get it I’ll take some new pictures of the places I found and send them to you.

The apartment that I am renting from Ms. Nakamura is kind of expensive but very nice.  I can see down town Yokohama from my window and it is very close to the Keikyu train line.  Which makes it very easy to get to work.  I bought a car since I’ve been here too, Continue reading →
