Last night, it was Mike’s and my turn to make family dinner (with my parents and sister).  We made mainland-style rice, tofu patties, and fish patties — it took us two and a half hours because we’re slow cooks.  The fish patties were green because they had a lot of green onions and cilantro in them!  😀  (Sorry, I forgot to take a picture…)

 昨晩、マイクと私は家族と一緒に食べることのために、夕食を料理しました。メインランド敵なご飯と豆腐パティーと魚パティーを作りました。私達は遅いクックですので、二時間かかりました。たくさんねぎとシランツロがありましたので、魚パティーの中はみどりでした！：D（写真を取るのは忘れました。ごめん！）

My aunty got married yesterday.  Congratulations, Aunty!  She and her new husband actually sat next to each other in seventh grade, but lost touch when they went to different high schools.  They met again when then they landed up teaching at the same school many years later.  🙂

 昨日、叔母さんは結婚しました。おめでとう！叔母さんと夫さんは同じ中学校のじゅぎょうでとなりに座りました。しかし、違う高校をかよいましたので、うしないました。多い年後、同じ高校の先生になりましたので、さいかいしました。：）

I got two of my wisdom teeth pulled out on Friday.  I love my dentist!  He was super considerate and gave me lots of painkillers so I didn’t feel a thing.  Also, it only took him about half a minute to pull out each tooth!

 金曜日、ちえ歯二個は引き出されました。歯医者さんは最高です！彼は優しく気をつけてたくさんちんつざいを私に与えました。くつうを感じませんでした。それに、かく歯を引く出すことがただ半分かかりました。

My aunty is getting married on Valentine’s day — she’s been dating her fiancee for quite a few years now, and I just found out that he’d proposed to her a couple of times before and she rejected him!  It’s hard to merge financial lives when you’re in your sixties, so it’s not like she didn’t love him, so I’m glad he persevered until she was ready to accept.  🙂

I wonder what I would do if I proposed to someone and they rejected me…

叔母さんはバレンタインデーに結婚します。叔母さんと 婚約者は数年間ひづけてしました。このせいこう前、彼が叔母さんに何度ももうしこみましたが、叔母さんはこばみました！ファイナンスの人生をへいごうすることは難しいのわけです。実に叔母さんは彼を愛しますので、彼が受け入れまでねばることはよかっただと思います。　：）

 Last week, my sister and I went into a new cafe upstairs in Manoa Marketplace — it just opened recently, and it’s called Green Time.  We went in because we felt bad that it was empty — Stacy already had a tea that she had bought at a different cafe, but she left it outside so we could go into Green Time and buy one of their teas.  It’s a good thing we did!  They have the most awesome ginger and honey tea I’ve ever tasted — I love it!  If you’re ever in Manoa Marketplace, I highly recommend you get their honey ginger tea.  🙂

先週、妹と私は「Green Time」というマノア　マーケットプレースの二階の新しいカフェ に入りました。最近えいぎょうちゅうしました。その時、お店はがらんとしましたので、かわいそうだと思いました。妹は他のカフェのお茶がありましたが、Green Timeのお茶を買うことのために、外でお茶をのこしました。それはよかった！Green Timeのしょうがとはちみつのお茶はとっても美味しいです！大好きです！これをすすめします。：）

I have a nice friend from college with whom I don’t speak much, but he always sends me an email on my birthday.  It’s so nice of him to remember me, but I don’t think I ever knew when his birthday was, so now I can’t email him on his birthday!  I think it would be too embarrassing to ask him to tell me at this point, don’t you?

　普段、あまり話す機会はないのですが、大学時代の友人に素敵な人がいます。彼は、毎年、私の誕生日にメールを送ってくれます。本当に嬉しいことなのです が、私は彼の誕生日を聞いたことがないので彼に誕生日メールを送ることが出来ません。今さら、「誕生日を教えて下さい」なんて聞くのはきまりが悪いですよ ね。。。

This was a big birthday weekend for my family — on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday we celebrated my dad’s, mine, and my uncle’s birthdays, respectively — we went out for Japanese fusion, Indian, and Chinese food.  I love eating out with my family!

この週末、私の家族はいくつも誕生日をお祝いしました。
木曜日はお父さん、金曜日は私、日曜日は叔父さんの誕生日でした。

それぞれの日には、和風料理、インド料理、そして、中国料理を食べに行きました。
家族と共に外食するのは大好きです。

                      I finally got my car back from the mechanic!  Yaaaaaay!  It's been two months, but I don't really mind, because my mechanic was trying to keep the labor costs down.  :) 
                  
                       Vern's pretty dirty after being in the repair shop for so long (my mechanic  meant to wash my car before giving it back to me, but he didn't have time since I wanted to pick it up right away), so I'm a little embarrassed when I'm driving, but I'll wash it this weekend.  Yay!
                  
                                        
                   ついに、私の車は修理屋さんから戻りました！やったぁ！二ヶ月間かかりました。でも、大丈夫！修理屋さんは修理代を安くしようとしてくれたので、長い時間かかっても、私は気にしません。：）
                                   
                 
               Vern ちゃん（私の愛車の名前）は、長い間、修理屋さんのところにいたのでかなり汚れていました。（修理屋さんは洗車する積りでしたが、私がすぐに引き取りたいと言ったので、その時間がありませんでした。）運転する時、ちょっと恥ずかしいです。。。 絶対、週末に自分で洗ってやります。。

When I was talking with Michiko and Sam at NACOS on Friday, Sam asked if I always pointed at my nose when I was referring to myself.  He said that women do it a lot in Japan… I’ve never been to Japan, and I know I haven’t always done that — in fact, until he pointed it out, I didn’t even know I was doing it!  I must’ve picked it up from Michiko.  😀

 金曜日に、美智子さんとサムさんと話していた時のことです。サムさんは私に、いつも自分のことを言う時に自分の鼻を指さすのかと、尋ねました。彼が言うには、それを日本人女性はよくするそうです。しかし、私は日本へまだ行ったことがありません。それに、いつでもそれをしていないのをわかっています。実際は、サムさんに言われるまで、私の新しい癖に気が付きませんでした！恐らく、美智子さんの癖が移ったのでしょう。：D
