マイクくんと彼の家族と一緒に、最近夕食をモートンというレストランで食べました。ファンシーです！ワインのとだながあります。何人かのお客さんはそこでひんぱんに食べますので、彼らは、モートンに自分のワインをたくわえています！私達が食べていると、ハワイ州の知事さんはレストランに入ってきて、彼女は他の人とあくしゅをして、すぐに出て行きました。

I had dinner at Morton’s recently with Mike’s family.  It’s so fancy!  There are wine lockers in the front — some customers eat there so often that they store their own wine in the restaurant!  The governor showed up while we were eating; she shook hands with some other people and then left. I finally got new shoes!  (The picture is of my old shoes.)  My old shoes were around eight years old, and the soles were separated from the shoes.  When I ran around, you could hear them flapping like slippers.  😀

　日本に住んでいるおばさんの友人は、おばさんに色々なスナックを郵便で送っていました。　おばさんは、私にこれをくれました。　しかし、やがて友人はアメリカに帰りますので、`これからは、美味しい日本的なスナックをいただくことができません。　残念です！
 
 
My aunty has a friend in Japan who sends her all kinds of food, and my aunty gave this candy to me.  Her friend is moving back to the US soon, though, so we won’t be getting anymore yummy candy.  Shucks!

　これはだめです！　家に、BBC版の 「Pride and Prejudice」 のDVDがありました。　それはいいです。　Colin Firth は、かっこいいです！　でも、お父さんは、この 「Bride and Prejudice」 のDVD を買いました。この映画の主役ダーシさんは、充分な威厳が絶対ありません。　：（

My parents did this, and it makes me sad.  We had the BBC version of Pride and Prejudice first (yay, Colin Firth!), and that should have been enough, but then my dad went and bought BRIDE and Prejudice, where it appears that Mr. Darcy heartily enjoys a good shower of confetti, and even laughs gaily at it.  Nooooooooo!!! ですから、同僚が会議中にブラインドを閉めると、私はがっかりします。
一方、窓の、ぎらぎらする、まぶしい光は、私を眠くさせます。

This is the view from a meeting room at work.  I think it’s pretty, so I’m sad when people close the shades during meetings.  On the other hand, the glare from leaving the window open sometimes makes me sleepy, so maybe it’s for the best.  :>

トルコとギリシャとイタリアに行った時、店員さんは観光客に「入って来てください！」と言いましたので、両親を神経質にさせました。それに、店員さんは、お客さんがねぎると予想しますが、お母さんはねぎる事があまり好きではありません。運良く、このトルコのしおりの値段をねぎる必要はありませんでした。：）

オスカーと私は朝の儀式があります。オスカーは私の部屋のドアの外で待ちます。私は着替える前に彼をベッドの上に載せます。そして、時々オスカーは静かにふせて、私は彼をだきしめます。他の時、オスカーはとてもふざけて、ベッドのシーツに顔をすりこみます。そして、私は彼のお腹をなでて、全身をだきしめます。：）

Oscar and I have a morning ritual.  He waits outside my door, and before I get dressed, I put him on my bed.  Then he either lies very quietly and then I hug him a lot, or else he acts very silly and rubs his face all over my sheets.  In that case, I rub his tummy and then hug him.  🙂

私が調理する数少ないレパートリーの一つは缶詰サーモンです。これはかんたんだから。。。

    月。　缶詰サーモンを買います。
    火。　殆ど汁をそそいで、捨てます。それから、おわんにサーモンを入れます。
    水。　１/４ カップ油をマイクロウエーブして、サーモンの上に油をそそぎます。
    木。　全部の上にお醤油をそそぎます。
    金。　きざみねぎをふりかけます。
    土。　ご飯と一緒に食べます。

このドイリーを数年間作っています。私のお母さんの母の日のプレゼントのために、済ませるつもりでした。（両親は今イタリアに旅行していますので、帰った後私達はお祝いします。）でも、ドイリーは古すぎます。。。ふちは茶色になりました！　：P　もはや済ませたくない。

I’ve been working on this doily on and off for years, and yesterday I thought I’d try to finish it up to give to my mom for Mother’s Day.  (My parents are in Italy right now, so we’re going to celebrate when she gets back.)  But I pulled it out, and it’s so old that the edges have turned a little brown!  :P:P:P  I don’t want to finish it anymore. また、仕事の旅行の小話。。。：＞　ところで、この写真は訓練の初日です。その日、名札を付けましたが、週の残りに怠け者から、付けませんでした。私は最後の列に座りたかったのですが、同僚達は責任者ですので、もっと前のほうに座りたかった。

I’m still talking about my work trip… :>  Anyhoodle, this was the first day of training — I wore my nametag that day, but was too lazy to wear it later on in the week.  I would’ve chosen to sit in the last row, but my coworkers are very good and wanted to sit closer to the front. Continue reading →
