flickr

Ooh, that little flickr badge thingy on the left side is neat!  Today I was working on my friend’s friend’s dog breeding website, and I was trying to figure out what photo gallery app to use.  I would’ve liked to use flickr, but I didn’t think I could since my friend’s friend makes money off her site.  Shucks! yay, Mike’s grandma!

I was at Mike’s house on Sunday, and his family was really nice about getting food.  If I’d been by myself, I would’ve just eaten whatever was laying around the house (cereal, chips, and candy… heh), but Mike’s sister braved the stores and came back with fruit and soup and doughnuts.  Also, Mike’s grandma (she lives by herself) took the bus down to Manoa Marketplace, bought a whole bunch of huli huli chicken, and then called us to tell us to come pick it up!  O_o Continue reading

shoelace

Last weekend my parents came with me to take some pictures of my wedding dress.  I think it’s funny that the store uses a shoelace to tie up the backs of corset dresses — it’s quicker and easier than using the dress’s real tie thingy.  πŸ˜€

elevator etiquette

My new office building requires people who come in before 7am to use an access card to open the front door and to use the elevators.  For the elevators, you have to put in your card and leave it in there while you press the button for your floor.  Now, wouldn’t you expect the first person in the elevator to put in his or her card and then leave it there so that everyone else getting on could press their buttons?  But that’s not what people in this building do!  They put in their card, press their button, and snatch their card out!  πŸ˜›

This morning, I was the second person in the elevator; the first woman did the snatchy-out thing.  Then I put in my card to press my button and left my card there for the last man to press his button, too… but he had Continue reading

family resemblance

Some people think my sister and I are twins, and some people think we’re nothing alike.  I don’t think we look especially alike — it’s probably just because we both have long hair.  Anyhooble, my sister took her car to my mechanic last week, and he immediately knew she was my sister.  Neat!  πŸ™‚ Continue reading

WoW adventures

Isn’t it funny how, when you’re in a really aggravating situation with someone, if the other person gets mad about it, that kind of frees you up to laugh about it?

Today I was playing WoW with a random pickup group, and the priest was awful — he kept trying to kill stuff instead of healing our teammates.  We died a lot, obviously, and Mike got really mad about it, so that kind of relieved my stress and I actually thought the situation was pretty funny.  πŸ˜€ Continue reading

no windows and no air

The building that my new cubicle is in is kinda chintzy and only turns on the the air conditioning on weekdays between 7 am and 6 pm.  I start work at 6:30, and even though I’m pretty used to warm weather, the office is really stifling and gross with the air off.  Yuck! Continue reading

looking for apartments

Mike and I went to look at apartments today, and it was pretty fun!  One place we looked at was for sale by the owners, and when we walked in, we were greeted by a cute grandma and grandpa couple.  Don’t you think that’s an unfair advantage?  How can you say no to cute grandparents?
