It’s only been about a week since I moved into my new apartment and the nights are full of loneliness. When I moved, my parents and older brother helped me.

It also happened to be my brother’s birthday, so my family went out to eat together for the first time in a long while.

During that time, my mother was telling stories about when we were children. When my brother was still in kindergarten, my mother made Calpis for us. We drank it greedily. When he had drank it dry, it must not have been enough, so he took the Calpis out of the refrigerator by himself and poured it into a cup-just the syrup… By the time my mother realized this, it was too late. My brother felt sick and was vomiting and crying at the same time. My brother didn’t know that you have to dilute Calpis with water before you drink it. To this day, my brother does not like Calpis. I went to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. It was really great. I particularly enjoyed Cambodia. It was really rural, and I was shocked at how completely different their lifestyle is compared to Japan’s. I noticed that in Japan there are a lot of things that are not necessary.

The people of Cambodia are all very gentle, kind and warm-hearted. However, I felt sad because when I went way into the countryside they could not speak Japanese or English so I couldn’t communicate. The market people and the bike taxi people could understand a little Japanese and were good at English so I could speak to them, but I think If we could speak better English, we could have had more meaningful conversations. They spoke English very well, so I asked them how long they studied English; they said one year. When I told them I studied for six years in school, they laughed at me! Continue reading →

　３月４日に国家試験が終わり、自己採点の結果、一応合格出来ていると思います。
 ã‚„っと一安心です。 今は実家に帰っています。新しい部屋探しのため・・・

　今日は、みゆちゃんが試験です。彼女は優秀なので全く大丈夫だとは思っていますが。

　今、日本のヒーロー長嶋茂雄さんが脳卒中で入院しています。
なんだか身内が入院している気分ですごく心配です。
アテネオリンピック日本代表の監督というプレッシャーとストレスが大きかったのでしょう。

Good evening. I attempted to write a short story for a change, so I’m sending it. It seems that there was some miscommunication about my Nagaya page so you had to redo it… I’m sorry for putting you to so much trouble, but please take care of it for me. I will reflect on not writing anything for a long time.

I will graduate from college soon. My goal for the past four years was to be able to state the good points of all my classmates. Discovering their good points was fun and easier than I thought it would be. Thankfully, it seems that I was able to accomplish my goal.

And yet, since we were sharing the same space for four years, we sometimes butted heads as well. There were many different ways of thinking. Of course we came to see each others’ bad sides. If I just accepted it meekly, this would have been terribly painful and the misery would have been too much to bear. I hate feeling like that, so when I could only see people’s bad points, I would pass it off as just being part of their personality. When I did this, all of a sudden, nothing bothered me any more.  にがつ の できごと

　私は相変わらず毎日平凡にやっています。今は、国家試験の勉強ばかりの毎日です。
就職は、長崎県の大村市にある病院に内定しました。試験に合格さえすれば採用になるでしょう。

　試験が終わったら友人と卒業旅行に行く予定です。
イ ンドに行く予定だったんですが、予定していた日にちが一杯で行けなくなりました。
今別の場所を検討中です。

 卒業して少し落ち着いたら家でネットを繋ごうか と考えている、この頃です。

　今日から学校が始まりました。今、パソコンの教室にいます。教授が、外国の人に、この学校の情報科学の指導について説明している様子です。

　その先生は英語ができないので通訳の人が一人います。 うーん。確かに先生はずっと通訳の人に話しかけています。たまに、チラっと本人（外国の人）を見る程度です。セントフランシスホスピスに行った時、マイケルさんの言っていたことがよくわかります。

　亜希さんからこの感想を頂いて安堵しました。ナコスの研修、医療現場見学では、通訳を使わない方針を選んだからです。正解だったと思っていますã Continue reading →
