Beach at Pololu

Whenever I hike down to the beach in Pololu Valley I feel a sense of peace and freedom. The sound of the ocean and the misty spray of the waves is somehow soothing to me. And as I walk inland toward the camping areas I feel a rush of adventure as I anticipate swinging on a rope and the beautiful sights that seem to always be different. For me, every time I go to the valley I see subtle changes in the scope of the mountains surrounding it and the color of the sky. Sometimes it’s spotted with clouds and sometimes fog that brings a mysterious allure. I always want to go see what’s behind it on the mountain tops. And there’s sometime a stream that flows from the ocean deep into the valley that butterflies seem to dance over, possibly admiring their own beauty from the reflection in the waters. And you can always find odd-shaped coral highlighted on the black sand beach, along with tiny crab the scurry from one dug hole to the next.

You know, I think I’m due for another trip down to the valley. I’ll let you know what I find.
