I’ve always taken lots of pride in being a hard worker. And this year at my job I was even recognized as an employee of the year. However, it was bittersweet. The culture at my job between my co-workers consists heavily of gossiping behind each others backs. So even though I was awarded the recognition, many voiced their opinion of dissatisfaction to me that they to were deserving of recognition for their hard work as if I had elected myself this honor. Needless to say, I am honored my hardworking was recognized. Just wish I didn’t have to deal with all the jealousy.
