Yesterday, My Wife and I attended a birthday party for a one year old. The son of a really good friend I had not seen in almost a year. A party he wasn’t to thrilled to have. And I could see why. Why throw such a huge party for a child will have no recollection of it ever happening? Plus, it really just seemed like people showed up for the free food and live band, which not many people seemed to intrested in either. I could ony imagine how much money went into preparing for something of that size, as opposed to a small gathering of close family and friends. They were clearly stressed throughout the night, and my friend was relieved when the band packed up an hour early and everyone else followed suit. he said, “Good. It was over sooner than I hoped. Thought I was gonna be here until midnight cleaning up” We stuck around awhile and gave him a hand. All in all though, it was good to see my friend again. Sometimes life can be so busy.
