I was watching a commercial earlier this afternoon and noticed the various holiday commercials on television. I got to thinking how I really like the holiday season. Things begin to slow down and the atmosphere seems friendlier. The smell of pumpkin spice, cinnamon, and nutmeg are in the air. The Salvation Army bells are ringing at the entrances to major stores. Stores extend their hours to accommodate for the extra shoppers. Children are getting ready for winter break. It’s not all joyful. There are the crowds, the never ending Christmas parties, and the last minute scramble to finish up year end loose ends, but still. Maybe it’s the food; maybe its the snowy season; maybe it’s the whole atmosphere, but I enjoy the holiday season.
