What I did today:0) By Garrett and Christina

Garrett: I went on a boat ride to the sand bar in Kaneohe Bay.  While I was snorkeling we found a small jellyfish and an eel in the coral. There was a turtle swimming while we were standing on the boat and so it stuck its head out of the water. I got a little sunburn and i’m very tired right now. It was fun.

We hadn’t been to the sandbar in So long! Years, in fact. So, we were very happy to be invited on this cruise. We just went to Hanauma Bay and tried out our snorkels for the second time there, so we really got to break them in good today, snorkeling around the reefs along the sandbar. We saw a surprising amount of fish and ocean life. The sea turtles were exciting to see again— we’d just seen 3 yesterday at Hanauma.

The people we went with were also tons of fun. All so friendly and a blast to hang out with. It was kind of potluck style, so we got to munch on some healthy goodies while chatting with everyone… between dives, that is! We ended up spending a lot of time in the water actually. This is not conducive to good sun protection, so despite re-applying sunscreen quite a few times, we still all ended up coming home pretty crispy. Even the kids, who don’t burn very easily.

It was a great afternoon, though, and SOOO worth it!
