Michel’s

Because my girlfriend and I had to work on Valentine’s Day this past weekend, we decided to celebrate a little later this year. So yesterday, to celebrate, we went to eat dinner at Michel’s at the Colony Surf. I’ve always heard how nice it was but I have never had the opportunity to eat there before. But after eating there, I have to say that this restaurant really lives up to its reputation. First of all, the view was amazing. We were there at about 8 o’clock so it was already dark, but you could see the city lights from Waikiki lighting up the night. I liked how it is an open setting right along the beach so you can hear the waves crashing. Also the service was excellent. Because I work at a fine dining restaurant, I am very aware of what goes on in a restaurant and I really appreciate a good overall eating experience… and Michel’s provided just that. The waiter always checked to see if our food was perfect, the timing was great, and the atmosphere was awesome. And most importantly, the food was great. I had the Black Angus Tenderloin and Lobster and my girlfriend had the Lobster and Shrimp. The tenderloin was so soft and tender (haha). It was so good that I tried to delay eating it to make it last as long as I could. There’s probably a million more things I could say about this restaurant but basically it is a great place to eat. Although you pay a lot for the experience, it is well worth it.
