On my trip to Tokyo, I visited the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. I took a tour that lasted about 90 minutes. The grounds were perfectly manicured and so many people were working on bushes, trees, sweeping and security. It was an amazing place and hope to go back some day.
The first picture is the gate you walk through when entering the grounds.
The picture below is the entrance to the royal families residence. Look closely, you can see the guards.

The two large mounds are actually hundreds of different types of trees all perfectly manicured to look round.

I don’t remember what this house is called, but it was said the Shogun’s use to sit here and look towards Mt. Fuji.
