イチローの名言

細かいことを積み上げること。
これしか頂上を目指す方法はない。

Ichiro is a great baseball player, so anytime he gives advice, everyone needs to listen. In this quote, Ichiro says that small things can lead up to something big. Sort of like the saying, “Dust amassed will make a mountain.” So if you want to reach a high goal, like becoming a major leauge baseball player, then you must take things one at a time, and take small steps towards achieving your goal.

手入れしたグローブで練習したことは、
必ず、体に残る。記憶が体に残ってゆく。
汚れたグローブでプレイしていたら、その練習は記憶には残らない。

Here, Ichiro says that you must take good care of your glove and hands, because good equipment will allow you to have better practices, and will also allow your body to remember what you have been practicing. When you finally play with your good glove, then all the practice and care you put into will pay off. However, if you practice with a dirty glove, then you can’t expect to have a good practice, or expect your body to remember the right techniques. One ball, one spirit.
