Since I had some free time away from my studies and work I decided to go back to Japan for a couple of days to visit my girlfriend. It is always a great experience being in a foreign country and soaking up the atmosphere and culture. Like the US, Japan also had their holiday over the thanksgiving weekend. But unlike the US they don’t celebrate by eating the ceremonial turkey or pumpkin pie. The only thing that I don’t like about visiting Japan during their holidays is driving to the scenic areas. I guess like the tourist that come to Japan from the other countries, the Japanese also like to do sightseeing during the holidays. Because of this as you can guess, the roads are full of cars. And being that I don’t like taking trains because I get a little claustrophobic (being sandwiched between people), I tend to like to drive instead. Unfortunately you have to deal with the very busy roads. I believe that I must have spent about 80% of the trip driving in constant traffic. But anyway, during my trip I got to see the beautiful koyo in Takaosan, and of course no trip would be worth taking without visiting an onsen (this time again in Hakone). I will write more about my trip again.
