Hawaii Plantation Village

We went on a field trip for our cultural class and it was at the Hawaii Plantation Village in Waipahu. It was really interesting to me to see how people lived in the past on plantations, not so good for women, especially picture brides. I really enjoyed going into the different houses and seeing what was important to the people living in them. For example the Puerto Ricans had a lot of musical instruments and bright colors, while the Japanese had games and earthy colors. Also some slept on the floor, while other cultures slept in beds. It was fun to check something out that I wouldn’t normally go see.
