This weekend I helped check ballots at a speech tournament — all I do is quickly make sure everything is filled out correctly when the judges turn them in.   The people who tabulate the results like doing things this way because if they figure out later that there’s a mistake, it’s generally a lot harder to track them down and ask questions.

I usually do this with my sister, and we like it because we get to goof off when there aren’t any ballots to check, and we also get free food.  🙂  The speech tournaments at Punahou are the only times I get to have barbecue-flavor Baked Lays!
