Time

As I get older I understand the words more and more of a song written by the Steve Miller Band. The song I am talking about is “Time Keeps on Slippin into the Future.” Today I looked back on a photo of me and Dolce six years ago and wonder where the time went. At that time I barely spoke any Japanese and Dolce had a full coat of hair. Now dolce has moved on, I have gained about twenty pounds and my Japanese has become quite good. I don’t have any regrets about time it just makes me realize things like it just slips away before you, so you must try and be present in as many moments as you can. On top of all this you must be thinking about your future moves and making the right choices now to get you to the places you want to be. For example studying Japanese twice a week over the course of seven years has placed me in a position now where I feel comfortable speaking before people of Japan. However, it has taken many hours of my time over and over again to get to where I am today. If you don’t enjoy what your doing now it might be a good time for a change, because before you know it seven years of unenjoyable time will have passed. Put yourself where you want to be!
