According to Wikipedia vodka is a diminutive word of water in the slavic languages. It looks similar to water in color as well. The reason I am posting this is because tommorrow I have a test on vodka at Ruth’s chris steakhouse. We must know all the major brands, country of origin as well as what it is made out of. Typically everyone might generalize vodka as coming from Russia or Poland and being made from potatoes. However, it actually comes from a number of other countries and can be made from all sorts of things besides potatoes. As far as drinking it goes, then I personally enjoy drinking it straight up in a martini glass with two olives, but it can be drank numerous different ways.
