I can’t believe I was completely surprised twice in one week — today my co-workers threw me a surprise wedding shower, and they even got Mike to come without me knowing!

My report team lead scheduled a meeting for lunchtime and said that lunch would be provided, which isn’t an unusual occurrence for the project I’m on. After he sent the meeting request, he sent separate email to the other invitees to let them know that it was a fake meeting just to get me to the party… but those other people are super busy and get so many emails that they didn’t get around to reading that one, so they showed up to my party expecting a meeting and free lunch! And the real kicker is that, when they realized that it was a party, they thought that maybe they would get a lunch for playing along, but they didn’t, and got sent away without food! Hehehe! I mean, it’s a little bit sad, but it’s also really funny, and those people weren’t offended, especially since they found the explanation email after they went back to their offices. 😀
