I’m finally growing up a little and have been buying work pants from Anne Taylor, rather than Forever 21. When I bought my Anne Taylor pants, I noticed a funny diagonal seam at the hips; they were in additional to the normal straight side seam. I thought they were just a strange detailing seam until a few weeks later when I discovered I was able to stick my finger in a hole towards the top of the diagonal seam… they were sewn-shut pockets! I’d heard of women cutting out their pants pockets and sewing them shut in order to improve the drape, but I didn’t know that stores sewed pockets shut ahead of time! Heh.
