parking

My family went out for my mom’s birthday last night, and we ended up arriving at the restaurant 45 minutes early. Since we were so early, we went to the City Mill across the street from the restaurant, and Mike and I ended up buying three small bookshelves.

There was very little parking at the restaurant, so we left the car parked at the City Mill parking lot. The restaurant was run by a couple from Rome and was very cute, but the service was understandably slow, so dinner took three hours. When we got back to the car, City Mill had closed… and they had chained off the parking lot entrances with our car trapped inside! Fortunately, Mike and my dad were able to hold up the chain high enough so the car could drive underneath. Yay!

We were lucky that the City Mill employees just chained us in, rather than having the car towed away. Do you think they saw the bookshelves in our car and decided to be nice since we’d bought so much stuff, or do you think they would’ve done that even if we hadn’t bought anything? :>
