I just got back from Las Vegas, where I attended my high school friend’s wedding. The ceremony was really sweet — the woman my friend married has a daughter from a previous marriage, and the minister included her (the daughter) in the ceremony. After my friend and his wife said their vows, the minister asked him if he would also love and protect the daughter. Then later, after they exchanged rings, he and his wife gave the daughter a ring of her own. 🙂
