Kohala Earthquake Relief
Aloha Family & Friends,
We wanted to let you know that we are all fine and safe after the recent earthquake we experienced last Sunday. The first earthquarke clocked in at 6.7 with a second one at 6.0 magnitude. Everyday since then we have felt aftershocks. We experienced minor damage. Our solar panels for our water heater shifted 2 feet damaging two out of three panels and our ceiling fan/light ripped out and crashed on the floor. We thank God that our home was free of structural damage. But many of our neighbors and friends suffered major structural damage to their homes.

Mark has been busy non-stop since Sunday donating his time to help people in our community fix leaking pipes, broken toilets, and sunken sespools. He has felt overwhelmed. But since then, God has opened doors for some of these families to get news coverage. Also, as an unexpected surprise, Mark was featured as Volunteer of the Week on our state-wide news station, KITV, Friday night 10/20 at 6pm.

God has also opened the doors for us to start an Earthquake Relief Fund that is funneled in through our church, Faith 4 Kohala. If you are moved to make a donation you can so by making a check payable to Faith 4 Kohala and note that you want it to go the Earthquake Relief Fund. If you feel moved to donate materials or your time, we are setting up teams. You can schedule with Mark. He can be reached at (808)896-3805. The types of materials needed are foundation stones, 4×4’s, jacks, and pipes. Most of all we need your prayers for wisdom, energy and strength.
The first two attatched pictures are taken inside our home. The latter two pictures are of our neighbor’s home.
Thank you so much for hearing our hearts.
God bless you,
Mark & Sarah
