　ハワイ大好きで、もうファミリーコンタクトも３回目なのに、、、　まだ英語の勉強が出来ていないので、少し心配。　でも、ジョイス達に会うのはとても楽しみです！　キーンもメイソンもきっと大きくなっているだろうなぁ・・・
 
　今年こそ日本に帰ったら、英語を勉強するぞ！！ と気持ちを新たにしています。　ハワイではじめたフラも上手になればいいなぁ。 そういえば、コミュニティーセンターで偶然会ったスカイチャン達にはびっくりしました。

I had my parents buy me a jersey of Brazil’s soccer player, Miherre Renaud at a flea market in Bali. When I wear it to practice, I feel like I am Renaud and I am able to run a lot. I want to wear it until it becomes worn out.

　バリののみの市で、ブラジルのリナウドのユニフォームを買ってもらいました。　それを着て練習をすると、ロナウドになったような気分になっていっぱい走ります。　ぼろぼろになるまで着たいです。

I have like to draw and write characters since I was three years old. When I write, I get left and right mixed up, but when you look at my writing in the mirror you can read it. I have recently become able to write Chinese characters. That is because I wanted to be able to write the names of famous soccer players. I looked at the articles about the World Cup in the newspaper and taught myself how to write the characters. Even if I can’t read them, I can look at the shape of the characters and am able to write them.

After watching the World Cup of Soccer on TV, did you like the countries of the world? I memorized the names of all kinds of foreign countries. I can write the names of about 100 countries. I will be eight years old soon. When I become nine, I’ll have them buy me a globe. The country I want to go to the most is Italy.

During my vacations from school, my head is full of soccer. I am not shy at all. They let me practice soccer with the upperclassmen. I was happy that they included my in my friend’s older brother’s group. I invited some of my classmates and we play soccer with this big older brother’s team.

I am crazy about soccer. I play soccer for an elementary school soccer club team called, “Vissel.” I practice every Thursday, after school, from 5:00-6:45. I practice as if it were a real game. We have practice even in the pouring rain. We don’t have any vacations. I’m good to go in the winter and even when it gets hot. I sweat it out.

My family went on a trip with my dad’s friend’s family to Kyoto. The first day, we ate a traditional Japanese meal overlooking the Kamo River. The second day, we rode the rapids down the Hozu River in a small boat. It was hot that day so it felt really good. I love summer in Kyoto. When we start out on a trip, my spirits soar. When we get home, I feel like it was over in a flash.
 
 
家族旅行

I am an avid reader. If I have free time, I am reading. I particularly love detective stories. I even read in the middle of class. The teacher gets mad at me. I start reading as soon as I get home from school. When I want to continue reading, I eat my food in a hurry. I am also reading before I go to sleep on my futon. My mother gets mad at me. However, that’s how much I love books.

My father likes cars. Ever since I was little, I’ve had a camper at my house. However, it was infested with ants and we sold it. Some years after that, we bought another camper and, we have started to go camping in the last few years.

Getting ready to go camping is an enormous task. We barbeque our food or cook nabemono (clay hot pot dishes) over charcoal. I don’t help my mother out at home, but when we go camping I cut vegetables and things like that. Food tastes good when we are camping. At night, we sleep in the camper.

At the campgrounds, people come together from all over. They do things like showing each other the insides of their campers. There are even people who do things just as if they were at home. This year we went to Fukui prefecture. I made friends with the kid in the camper next to us and we played together a lot. Continue reading →

 
I have reached my goal of swimming the 200 meter medley (breast stroke, back stroke, butterfly, and crawl) in under four minutes. And so, the next new thing I decided to challenge myself with was funk dance. I have always wanted to try it if it fit into my schedule. I have gone to observe it and try it for myself and thought it was cool. Funk dance is a pretty vigorous dance. After my lessons I am always hungry. I am always dancing wherever I go, even when I go shopping. This is embarrassing so I don’t like to talk about it, but… I have set my sights on becoming a back dancer for an idol singer.
 
 
ファンクダンス
 
　２００メートルのメドレー （平泳ぎ、背泳ぎ、バラフライ、クロール） を４分台で泳ぎ切るという目標を達成しました。 それで、次の新しいことにチャレンジしようと思ってファンクダンスを始めました。 前から日程があえばいつかやりたいと思っていました。 見学して、体験して、かっこいいと思いました。 ファンクダンスは結構激しい踊りです。 レッスンのあと、お腹がすきます。 今ではどこへ行っても、買い物に行っても、どこでも踊っています。 これは恥ずかしいので言いたくないのですが。。。　将来は、アイドル歌手のバックダンサーをめざしています。 Continue reading →
