昨日、レストランで食べて、ウェイトレスに使用された箸（使用ずみ）をもらいました！その使い捨ての箸はかみのスリーブ（はしぶくろ）の中にありました。多分、他のお客さんはスリーブの中に使用した箸を入れて、ウェイトレスはまだ使用されてないと思いまして、箸を新しい箸のところに戻しました！

私も使用した箸を箸ぶくろに戻します。それで、ウェイターはよごれた箸をさわらなくてもいいです。それに、長くてきれいな端がスリーブの外にでていますので、箸が使用されたとわかることができます。とにかく、ウェターはふつう全部を捨てますね？たとえば、もし私の紙ナプキンはきれいのように見えても、それでも捨てるでしょう？

I ate out last night, and the waitress gave me a pair of used chopsticks!  They were the disposable kind that come in a paper sleeve — apparently, a previous customer had put his used chopsticks back in the paper, and the waitress had assumed that they were still unused, and took them back! 

I usually put my chopsticks back in the paper, too, just so the waiters don’t have to see or touch them when they’re all gross and used, but I leave the clean end sticking way out so you can tell that I’ve handled them.  And don’t waiters usually throw everything away on the table anyway?  I mean, if my paper napkin looked unused, wouldn’t the waiter still throw it away, just to be safe?  Ew ew ew!
