Tangerine
Tangerines arrived from home today. My home of Wakayama is famous for its tangerines and it is the second largest producer in Japan. They are smaller than American oranges and their taste is different. In the winter in Japan, it is customary for people to warm themselves under the kotatsu (a kotatsu is a Japanese heater that is set under a low table with futon comforter over it. You sit with your legs under the table with the futon over them and warm
up that way on cold winter days) and eat tangerines. This year, too, I will ride out the winter eating tangerines.
