Our second day there we left our hotel early and headed of the train station. In order to get to Mt. Fuji early enough to climb up and come back down the mountain before night fall.

When we arrived at our final stop we then had to get a bus that took you from the very base of the mountain to the beginning of the trail.

The ride was long and at some points very steep. When we finally arrived we all stopped at the shops at the beginning of the trail and bought supplies. We bought walking stick also, as souvenirs.

We were in better shape than most climbing to mountain and we passed many on our way. It wound up taking us only 6 and a half ours to reach the summit.

We headed back down, which was much easier than the trek up the mount. It was well after nightfall when we got near the base of the mountain and it was pitch black.

Luckily we packed flashlights. So the darkness wasnﾕt much of a hindrance. When got to the bottom it was a little after eight oﾕclock and the buses that went to the train station had stopped running so we had get there by taxi. Which was expensive.

After disembarking from the cab we hopped on the train and headed back to the hotel in Yokosuka.
