Our first Junior Varsity Game
There we were. At Mid-pac, one of the most baseball crazy schools in Hawaii. Punahou vs/ Mid-Pacific, a clash of two baseball powers. I couldn’t believe it when my name was announced to be a starter, as a designated hitter. We lost by one run, but at least we could show the coach what we could do Continue reading

Carnival!
Every year, Punahou holds one of Hawaii’s most festive events on campus grounds, the Punahou Carnical. With E K Fernandez rides and games, the carnival is a fundraiser for students with financial aids, whom without the money, would not be able to go to Punahou. As a freshman, I had to work during the carnival, making lots of malasadas for lots of hungry customers. And I actually won something big playing the carnival games! It was a fun exprience.

Waikiki
Last night I went to Waikiki, Oahu’s tourist hotspot. I never knew so many people could be in one place, it was so busy! There were many differnt kinds of shops, but everything was very expensive. A normal hat from anywhere else would be 20 dollars at most, but there was one for 52 dollars! I dont think I could live in a big city like Waikiki Continue reading

I had been lifting weights, but I hadnt been putting alot of muscle on. so i went to GNC, where they cell a product called cell tech-. Its a formula drink that makes your muscles stronger. Ive been using it, and im already stronger than all of my baseball friends. It has put me that muc closer to making the team.

Phiten
There is something that is sweeping the golfing nation. No, it is not Michelle Wie, but Phiten. Phiten is a necklace embeded with taitanium particles, that relaxes your muscles and regulates you breathing. This is supposed to help golf players but keeping their heart rate down during holes, so that they can relax and focus. But now other athletes are noticing what Phiten is doing, and now baseball players to tennis players are using them. I bought mines at Shirokiya, and I think it comes from Japan too. Do you know?
ファイテンは、チタンの粒子がはめ込まれたネックレスです。
筋肉をリラックスさせ、呼吸を整えてくれます。
これも日本から来たものだと思います。ごぞんじですか?

self portrait
Hello, my name is travis ganiko. I was born on february 23, 1992, and I am currently a freshman in punahou high school. I am japanese, okinawan, and filipino. My dad works for the navy, and my mom stays home to take care of me and my two sisters, tamara and tiana. I am a very funny and happy person, and I get somewhat angry at times, but never for long. I enjoy playing baseball, video games, and watching football and professional wrestling.
I have been playing baseball since I was 6, and now I am trying out for punahous junior varsity team. I play almost every position, except catcher, but my favorite position is pitching, because iits very fun to strike out people. My father helps me practice, because he play baseball when he was a kid, and won a championship for mckinley highschool. Baseball is one of the most fun sports in the world, especialy when you win.
On monday, tuesday, and friday, professional wrestling is on tv. This is my favorite program to watch on tv, because of the wrestling and speech of the superstars. Its cool to watch the wreslters and of all the different so of people that wrestler. My freinds talk about it at school, and often argue who is the best.

Punahou Semester Finals
For the next week, I will be taking tests on all 5 of my school subjects. I have been taking lessons, doing tests, and working on homework for the past 5 months, and it all comes down to these last big tests. These tests will help decide what colleges I will be able to go to, as well as dictate my future. I study everyday, and thereś no time for work or play. I will be able to relax once this is all done, and hopefuly write my blog everyday.

Christmas
Merry Chirstmas! Chrstmas has come yet again, that festive time of year where you get together as a family and just spend time together. I went to my uncle and aunties house in Waipahu two days before Christmas, and we had a small Ganiko family get together. We played games, talked story, and my sister and I even performed by playing the piano. My cousin played some kindof Japanese intrsument, but i forget what it was called, it was sort of like a banjo where you pluck the strings instead of sturmming it. DO you know what it was? i will post up pictures later, after I get them from my aunty. Continue reading

Navy Comissary XP
Every month my mom, sisters and I travel to the Navy base to buy groceries.Since we only go once a month, we buy a lot of things, and when we go to the register we always have one cart totally full. When we get home, Every helps unload the car. I carry the heavy stuff, while my sister and grandparents carry the lighter things. I’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember. It is a part of my daily life.
- 毎月、母と妹と私は、海軍基地へ食料品の買いだしに行きます。
カートいっぱいに買い物をして、
家に着くと私は車から重い荷物を家の中に運びます。
私はこれをずっとしています。
私の日課のひとつです。
