Kalamas

Yesterday, I went to the Windward side of Oahu. There is a littlte beach park called Kalamas. It was fun to relax on the beach and play in the small waves.

カラマス

 きのう、オアフのウィンドワード側へ行きました。そこにはカラマスという小さなビーチがあります。私は、そこで、小さな波とたわむれて、息抜きをしました。

Brakes

I was driving the down the freeway the other day. I went to push on the brake pedal and it almost went to the floor. It freaked me out, since I just had the brakes pads changed recently. The problem wasn’t with the pads, but with the master cylinder. It was kind of expense to get it fixed, but had to be done and I feel much safer now that it has been replaced.

Poipu, Kaui

My friend from Washington flew into Honolulu yesterday. He had a short lay over here on his way to Kaui. He has rented out a house near the beach in Poipu, which is the south side of the island. It was good to see him and I hope I get a chance to check out his new place. Continue reading

Compadres Robbed

I went into Compadres to get my schedule and was shocked to hear they had been robbed. Sometime between 3am and 6 am someone had come in and took money from the safe. No one has been caught, but it looks like an inside job and there are a few suspects. Continue reading

Pirates

Tonight we went and saw the Pirates of the Carribean 2. I really enjoyed the movie and thought it was very entertaining. I love the fact that good movies can entertain your mind for a few hours. Even though your sitting in a dark room in an uncomfortable chair you might really feel like your in another world. Continue reading

Gaijin

Last night a family sat down in my section of all Japanese, except for this older white guy. He spoke perfect Japanese and he translated what the people at the table wanted to eat and drink. It was really strange to watch and listen to Japanese being spoken by this white guy. I hope that someday I can reach that level of profiency. Continue reading

Red,white, and blue

I worked at Compadres today and it was interesting to see all the people who were wearing red, white, and blue in support of Indepence day. One particular group of ladies were sitting in my section and dressed up in the American colours. One of the lady`s t-shirt had a large sticker running down the front representing what size it was and the fact that she forgot to remove it. We all began laughing and her friend removed the embarrasing sticker. Continue reading

Keo’s

Last night we had dinner at Keo’s, which is a Thai restaurant in Waikiki. The flavor of the food was average and so was the service. The overall experience wasn’t anything special and we probably won’t go again. However, the fresh cut flowers throughout the restaurant created a pleasant environment.

Continue reading

Searched

As you enter Bayfest your entering the military base and I had no idea that they were going to be randomly searching cars. Our car was that car that had to pull over and  get searched. It was acutally an intense situation and the Marines were very serious about their job. We had to step out of the car and open all the doors and a dog went through the car. Then the Marines went through and searched everything, of course there was nothing to find and we were able to pass through the gates, but the overall experience wasn’t fun and I wouldn’t want to have to do it again.
