This is a picture taken about 6 miles from my house. It is called Pololu Lookout. The first valley is Pololu and the series of valleys stretch all the way to Waipi’o Valley. These valleys are located on the north side of the Big Island. This is the oldest side of the island with the most erosion. There used to be many Hawaiian settlements located in each valley. But today no one lives in them at all.
