I have been trying to work in a couple phrases that I learned in class at the restaurant.  I have only been trying the phrases that I know I can get a laugh from.  I will have to try some other phrases to complete my studies.  Each new phrase or word I learn gives me more confidence to speak with my guests in their native tongue.  So far I have been getting great responses from my guests.  I really want to make my Japanese customers as comfortable as possible.  Using Japanese puts them at ease and also makes me get the order accurate.  Japanese are great customers and I want them to have the best time possible.  I understand that with most people the language barrier can make things that much more difficult.  I love the interaction with them, it makes all my efforts seem worthwhile.
