In the restaurant I have been trying harder to converse with my Japanese guests.  In one of those conversations I learned of a guest that came from Saitama.  I told them that I am familiar with Saitama, I told them it’s about 1hr. and a 1/2 by car.  They seemed amazed that I knew this because they felt that Saitama is not that well known.    I explained to them that Saitama is where my friend from Nacos is from.  We had a big laugh and enjoyed the conversation so much more.  They had a great meal and had a wonderful evening.  In the end we exchanged email addresses to chat, I told her that I would love to visit and that I am a little intimidated by the city.  She is living in the city now so she offered to show me around while I visit.   I just hope I visit soon before that offer expires.
