Intertwined Paths

I sometimes think of things in ways, that they are somehow strangely connected. For example, last year I was living in Hawaii, and had my friend Rumi move in from Washington. He had just returned from Tunisia. He had been given a scholarship to study Arabic for the State department. He was a recent graduate from UW in International Studies, we have a lot of common together about our sense of adventure for the world. He sparked my interest in traveling again and seeking more knowledge about the world. Ironically enough, I was given a scholarship to travel to Korea to study language, culture, and business. I returned from Korea and he went to Africa to intern for the UN. He returned and we were both in Washington for a short time, although we never got a chance to get together. We spoke over the phone, he said that he was moving to Seoul, Korea and had got a job there. I was in a little shock at the news as I had just returned form there. Then the other day he posted some pictures, were I had been standing six months prior too, taking the exact same pictures. How weird!.. I thought as some people are brought back into your life for certain reasons. Rumi, is a younger brother of a childhood friend. I had not spoken to him prior to this year in over 15 years! Now within this short period of time, we had been in the same places across the globe.
