Well something just recently happened to me which I couldn’t believe. Last nite as I was working I served a guest who was celebrating an anniversary which is not unusual but we talked and had a healthy conversation about Maui. He had just flew in from Maui which he visits every year. I mentioned that I had recently gone to Maui and we talked about both of our exciting vacations. He said that he loves Hana, Maui and visits every year and that I should have visited Hana. Next thing I know he asks me for a paper and pen, he doesn’t tell me anything just goes on with the night. Later that evening he hands me the paper and tells me that he would like to have my girlfriend and I stay in Hana for 2 nights all expenses paid compliments of him. I really didn’t know how to respond, and asked if he was joking. He said of course not! I really didn’t know how to act upon hearing this. I probably acted like a fool but this scenario has never happened to me. I feel very weird about accepting such a generous gift. Something like this never happens to me. One day I hope that I will be in a position to return such a generous gift to him or someone else! I feel like the I’m in the movie “Pay it forward”. I believe that I am generous by nature but what this couple is offering is more than I am accustomed too! To think that it was their anniversary and I was trying my hardest to make them feel special they just turned that around on me. I will pay it forward!
